Lesson 14: Childgrove | Beginner Guitar Lesson | Flatpicking Crash Course

In lesson 14 of the Flatpicker’s Crash Course, we’ll continue to explore articulations (hammer-ons, pull offs & staccato). These techniques are an important feature of any guitar style & can smooth out our sound, while offer some interesting accents with our rhythm. We’ll be working on a variation of a traditional English dance Childgrove during the lesson.

The first 13 lessons can be found here 101 Flatpicking Crash Course and here 102 Flatpicking Crash Course.

In this lesson, we’ll continue on from where we left in the last lesson, developing the following:

  • Articulations (hammer-ons, pull-offs & staccato);
  • Am (natural minor) scale over two octaves;
  • Left-hand finger position;
  • Right-hand technique & rhythm.
